Mr. Dhananjay Tripathi, the CEO of Pharmanova Group of Companies, Ghana, is a Naturalized Ghanaian Citizen and a Registered Industrial Pharmacist and Entrepreneur with a successful career span of about three decades.

 

Ghana with little over 31 million population, is considered to have one of Africa’s “Most successful healthcare system.” More than 97% of the country’s people avail their treatments through this system

He is one of the pioneers who has contributed to the growth of the pharmaceutical sector in Ghana and West Africa. For his contributions he has been awarded Pharmaceutical’s Chief Executive Officer of the Decade, in 2021.  His other accolades include best Company in Corporate Social Responsibility and Company of the Year awards He was inducted into the Ghana Corporate Hall of Fame in 2021. Just this year he was awarded C.E.O of the decade.

Mr. Tripathi, is the current Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Ghana and Treasurer of the West African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association

Mr Tripathi’ s rich experience and vision began in July 1992 when he started  working  in various pharmaceutical companies in India and Ghana as a Chemist, Production Executive, Production Manager and as a General Manager

Mr Tripathi established Pharmanova in May 2005. Under him Pharmanova has grown from an initial work force of ten employees to become a key player in the industry in Ghana, with three subsidiaries in Ghana, Ivory Coast and India. The Ghana establishment currently give employment to over 700 employees. Pharmanova has offices in Togo, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Benin, Nigeria etc.

He has spearheaded Build and Operate of a current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) compliant plant for Infusions (LVP), Small Volumes Injectable, Ear, Nasal, Eye Drops, Vaccines and Suppositories, as part of the Government of Ghana flagship program of 1D1F which was inaugurated by the President of  the Republic of Ghana on Friday, 22nd April, 2022.  This project is partly supported by the Ghana Exim Bank with a loan facility of US$10 Million. This project’s contribution is to add to Ghana to be self-sufficient in Covid-19 vaccines Bulk Filling and Packaging additional to Anti-Snake, Anti- Rabies, Anti- Diphtheria, Anti-Scorpion, Anti- Tetanus, and Anti- Gangrene and other biological products. It will also manufacture Large Volume Parenterals, Small Volume Parenterals & Inhalational Anesthesia.

Before this, he had completed a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical plant in the Free Zone Area of Grand Bassam in the Ivory Coast, which is the first pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Free Zones Enclave, called VITIB, in Cote d’Ivoire.  The project was commissioned 27th June, 2019 by the then Vice President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire assisted by the then Minister of Health.

Mr Tripathi has foresight and is a critical solutions thinker who keeps abreast with developments in pharmaceutical industry. His vision is to help improve the quality of life of people by providing advanced health care solutions which are affordable and with best quality. This is in tune with the company’s slogan of “Committed to provide quality healthcare….”  While his mission for his company is for it to become Africa’s “Most Valued Company in the Pharmaceutical Sector”.

Pharmanova has emerged to be recognized as the best, in price and quality by patients, Doctors, health care industry personnel and all stakeholders including government and their associates in Ghana and Ivory Coast.
